Free Model Railway Resources - Home. All too often, when building a model railway, one has great difficultly in getting hold of certain critical things, such as backscenes, brickpaper, details, etc. Of course there are commercial products that can be bought, but these are often expensive and, more importantly, they make your layout look the same as all the other layouts whose builders bought those products. Witness the constant recurrence of Peco backscenes on exhibition layouts. The best thing to do to make your layout individual is to use elements you make yourself. But there are many modellers who do not have the time or skill to make them, or live in the wrong place for them (you can't really take your own pictures of the British countryside for your layout backscene if you live in downtown Tokyo). Looking on the internet will turn up all kinds of stuff but there is always the issue of copyright. I have often created my own backscenes, signs, details, etc, for my layouts. Having ended up with much better- looking layouts as a result, I have decided to make some of them freely accessible on the Internet. Our catalogue Our catalogue has the following sections.
